Karen Quant
Karen was born in England and moved to South Africa at the age of 10. After majoring in art at high school she went onto study art and colour. She then moved to Australia and for the last 25 years she has lived on the Northern Beaches where her life transformed as she became interested in Spiritual and Metaphysical studies, Colour Therapy and Meditation. This is expressed through her work in colour and brushstrokes. Through years of meditation and her innate knowing and sensitivity, her special skills oftentimes come to life expressed on canvas, from Ancient Symbology to pure abstract colour themes, and Earthy Landscapes. Artist Statement “It is my belief that creative power is greater than most people realize and inside the soul, the life force, is the very fabric of creation. Creativity is feeling, it is the spirit of who we are. I try to set my soul free on canvas, so I can be my true SELF.” “Colour and sound vibrations are fundamental to the human vibrational frequency which is often why we can simply look at a painting and be overwhelmed by a feeling of comfort, pleasure, joy ….and knowing….all expressions of our soul and its personal resonance with the work” As with the many moods along our life journey, Karen’s style changes from contemporary realism, Expressionism to Abstraction and considers herself to be an Intuitive Artist.
